Ragunan Zoo Prepares 27 Parking Spots for June Holiday Visitor Surge
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Ragunan Zoo has prepared 27 additional parking spots to manage the anticipated surge in visitors during the early June 2026 long holiday period, which coincides with Pancasila Day, Idul Adha 1447 AH, and public holidays. Wahyudi Bambang, Head of Public Relations for Ragunan Zoo, stated that the extra parking areas have been set up within the tourist area to accommodate the expected rise in visitor vehicles during the holiday season. ‘A total of 27 additional parking spots have been provided, with a capacity to hold approximately 5,500 cars and 20,000 motorcycles,’ Wahyudi said in Jakarta on Monday, June 1, 2026, as reported by Antara. Wahyudi added that coordination has been carried out with various agencies, including the TNI and Polri, to ensure visitor safety and comfort at Ragunan. ‘Security and service are our top priorities during the Idul Adha holiday. Coordination with TNI, Polri, and relevant agencies is being conducted to maintain a secure and pleasant tourist environment,’ he said. The management also urged the public to use public transport when visiting to reduce traffic congestion around the Ragunan area. According to Wahyudi, Ragunan Zoo is accessible via various public transport options, including Transjakarta and other public vehicles. Visitors were also reminded not to feed or disturb the zoo’s wildlife, as this could impact the animals’ health and comfort. ‘We hope all visitors comply with the regulations to ensure a safe and pleasant holiday while keeping the animals healthy,’ Wahyudi added.
