Ragunan Zoo predicts 400,000 visitors during Eid al-Fitr holiday
Ragunan Zoo has set a visitation target of 400,000 visitors this year, assuming the Eid al-Fitr holiday period runs for eight days from 22-29 April 2026, according to Endah Rumiyati, Head of the Ragunan Zoo Management Unit, speaking in Jakarta on Friday.
The figure reflects the managers’ optimism based on historical data from 2025, when the total number of visitors during the 14-day Eid al-Fitr holiday period reached 610,416 people, averaging approximately 43,000 visitors per day.
In accordance with Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 63 of 2018 concerning the Optimisation of Activities and Management of Visitors at Tourist Sites on Certain Days, zoo operations will commence on the second day of Eid (H+1), whilst the tourist area remains closed to the public on the first day of Lebaran.
“The Ragunan Zoo Management Unit formally declares its readiness to welcome the surge of tourists during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period,” said Endah.
Through its Instagram account @ragunanzoo, Ragunan Zoo has announced it will remain open Tuesday to Sunday from 07:00 to 15:00 WIB during Ramadan.
Ragunan Zoo is located in South Jakarta, covers 147 hectares, is home to more than 2,009 animals, and is planted with more than 20,000 trees. Current admission prices are Rp4,000 for adults and Rp3,000 for children.
