Ragunan Zoo is set to be a popular destination for families in the capital during the long weekend, which includes the commemoration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, public holidays, and the weekend of 14-17 May 2026. It is predicted that a total of over 100,000 people will visit Ragunan.

Data collected by the Ragunan Zoo management unit shows the public’s enthusiasm.

On the first day, Thursday, 14 May 2026, which coincides with the Ascension of Jesus Christ, Ragunan received 39,470 visitors. This figure indicates the high public interest during this long weekend.

On the second day, Friday, 15 May 2026, which is a public holiday, the number of visitors was recorded at 16,427. Meanwhile, on the third day, Saturday, 16 May 2026, the number of visitors had reached 10,852 at 09:00 WIB and is expected to increase.

“Our prediction is that during these four days of the long holiday, the total number of visitors will reach 120,000. We have anticipated this by fully preparing all facilities and personnel,” said Bambang, the Public Relations Officer of Ragunan Zoo, on Saturday, 16 May 2026.

To ensure the comfort of all visitors, Ragunan Zoo provides a variety of complete facilities, including the Schmutzer Primate Center, the Animal Nursery, a jogging track, and a picnic area. There are also a mosque, a restaurant/canteen, bicycle and electric bicycle rentals, stroller rentals, buggy car rentals, and a first aid station.

Ragunan Zoo also offers refreshing evening activities from Tuesday to Saturday. There is a program called “Night at Ragunan Zoo” which offers sports activities and exploration of nocturnal animals.
