Raffi Ahmad Retains Hotman Paris as Legal Counsel Following Allegations in Customs Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the name of the Special Envoy to the President for the Development of Youth and Artists, Raffi Ahmad, has surfaced during the investigation into alleged corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.

According to the Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, Raffi Ahmad’s name emerged in relation to his visit to the Blueray Cargo office in the United States to arrange the shipment of various electronic goods to Indonesia. However, Achmad stated that the KPK has not yet expanded upon this specific lead within the ongoing Customs investigation.

Following the reports, Raffi Ahmad immediately appointed the prominent lawyer Hotman Paris as his legal counsel. This was announced by Hotman Paris in a video uploaded to Raffi Ahmad’s Instagram account.

“Hello to the journalists, the media, and Raffi Ahmad’s enemies. Raffi Ahmad just called me requesting legal assistance against those who are slandering him. He stated his name was mentioned in court regarding the Blueray Cargo Import matter,” said Hotman Paris, as reported on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

Hotman Paris noted that, per his agreement with Raffi Ahmad, a press conference will be held this Thursday at 2:00 PM WIB. During this session, Hotman challenged those he described as Raffi Ahmad’s adversaries to attend and present their accusations directly.

“Hotman Paris’s style is never cowardly; I do not shy away from press conferences. When I hold a press conference, I always challenge my enemies to appear alongside the media. We have agreed with Raffi Ahmad to hold a press conference this Thursday at 2:00 PM,” continued Hotman Paris.

Hotman also challenged those linking Raffi Ahmad to the Blueray Cargo Import case to produce evidence supporting their claims.

“Hopefully, by Wednesday afternoon, I will be able to return and assist Raffi Ahmad. I invite all media and individuals posting about this, including motivators, to debate with Hotman and Raffi Ahmad—bring your evidence. Is it true that Raffi Ahmad is involved in the Blueray Cargo Import case currently in trial? Come and prove it,” he concluded.
