Raffi Ahmad has spoken out following his name being linked to an investigation into alleged corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance. On Monday night, 8 June 2026, Raffi Ahmad immediately appointed lawyer Hotman Paris to act as his legal counsel for the case.

Raffi Ahmad also highlighted statements made by his lawyer, Hotman Paris, regarding parties spreading information or testimonies that do not align with the facts. Through a post on his personal Instagram account, Raffi warned that the dissemination of incorrect information could lead to legal issues, including allegations of defamation.

“Mr. @hotmanparisofficial said… Be careful to those creating news far from the true story / erroneous testimony / extreme hoaxes, as they could face defamation charges,” wrote Raffi Ahmad, as quoted on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

In the same post, Raffi also confirmed that he and Hotman Paris will hold a press conference to discuss the matter this coming Thursday.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that the name of the Special Envoy to the President for the Development of Young Generation and Performing Arts, Raffi Ahmad, appeared in the investigation of alleged corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance.

According to the Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, Raffi Ahmad’s name surfaced in relation to his visit to the Blueray Cargo office in the United States to arrange the shipment of several electronic goods to Indonesia.

However, Achmad admitted that the KPK has not yet expanded upon this lead within the Customs investigation. “Yesterday, we did not develop it too far because we had not reached facts that would confirm it as part of the Blueray incident involving immigration processes at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, so we did not issue a summons,” he stated, as quoted from the ANTARA news agency on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

Nevertheless, after these details emerged further during court proceedings, he confirmed that the KPK will investigate the matter deeply. “Whether the facts from the trial will become new facts that need further investigation? Yes, we will certainly conduct examinations,” he said.
