Presidential Special Envoy for Youth and Arts Development, Raffi Ahmad, has issued a clarification regarding reports linking him to an alleged import goods case involving courier company Blueray Cargo. Raffi asserted that he has no connection whatsoever to the import activities currently under scrutiny. He explained that his link to the company’s name was limited to a photograph taken while he was in the United States in 2025. “My name has been dragged into an unpleasant piece of news. In the past, I was often linked to money laundering and other things, but I was relaxed because it never happened. Now, because I have been entrusted with the mandate as Presidential Special Envoy, I feel it is necessary to correct these falsehoods,” Raffi said during a press conference in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta on Thursday (11/6). During the press conference, which was also attended by his attorney, Hotman Paris Hutapea, Raffi explained that his meeting with Blueray personnel occurred by chance whilst he was visiting several Indonesian-owned businesses in New York after taking part in the Chicago Marathon in October 2025. According to Raffi, at that time he visited Awang Kitchen restaurant and Indo Java store as a show of support for Indonesian entrepreneurs operating in the United States. After the visit concluded, several people from Blueray asked to take a photograph with him. “When I was eating at Awang Kitchen and Indo Java, many Indonesian citizens asked for photos. On exiting the location, there was a store called Blueray. They called me over to take a photo,” Raffi stated. He also revealed that a brief conversation took place with the Blueray party regarding shipping services. However, Raffi stressed that he never used the service or conducted any transactions. “They briefly offered to send an iPhone for free. I said, don’t bother. If it’s free, I don’t want it. After that, there was no order and no further communication,” Raffi recounted. Meanwhile, Hotman Paris stated that no evidence was found showing that his client ever ordered goods or received a shipment from Blueray Cargo. “He never ordered anything. This was merely celebrity small talk from meeting people who asked for a photo,” Hotman disclosed. Furthermore, Hotman suspected that Raffi’s name emerged in the case as a result of internal company communications which were subsequently revealed during the investigation. Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that the name Raffi Ahmad, or RA, was mentioned in court facts related to the courier company Blueray Cargo. The company is currently facing an alleged bribery case linked to goods importation activities at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Responding to this, Raffi reiterated that he never conducted transactions or received goods shipments from the company. He also urged the public not to readily believe unverified information. Raffi Ahmad has denied involvement in the alleged import case dragging in Blueray Cargo. According to him, interaction with the company only occurred during a photo session in the United States and never progressed to any transactions or cooperation.
