Radisson to open new hotels
JAKARTA (JP): The worldwide hotel chain of Minneapolis, Radisson Hotels International, which opened its Plaza Suite Hotel in Surabaya, East Java, last year, plans to operate two new hotels in Yogyakarta and Jakarta next year.
David Boward, an executive of Radisson International, said here yesterday that its Plaza Hotel in Yogyakarta, which has a capacity of 129 rooms, is scheduled to be operational in July, and its Redtop Square Hotel in Jakarta with a capacity of 400 rooms in August.
No details on investments of the project were made available in the company's release here yesterday, but Antara news agency reported that the company has been committed to investing some US$200 million for the construction of Redtop Square Hotel here.
The Redtop Square Hotel, being built in a 3.5-hectare area, will include condominiums, apartments and a shopping center.
"The Redtop hotel will be jointly managed by the Ongko Group of Indonesia," Boward said. (fhp)
