Radisson hotel in Yogya
YOGYAKARTA (JP): A new four-star hotel will open here soon, in
spite of fiercer competition in the hotel industry in the
province.
The 129-room Radisson Plaza Hotel Yogyakarta will be located
on a 2.3-hectare plot of land, formerly the site of the Colombo
swimming pool. The hotel will have its soft opening in July.
The new hotel will be the second in Indonesia to be managed by
the worldwide Minneapolis-based Radisson Hotels International of
the Uniter States. The first Indonesian Radisson hotel was opened
in Surabaya, East Java, in 1993. Another Radisson hotel, owned by
the Ongko Group, will start operation in Jakarta in August.
Radisson Plaza Hotel Yogyakarta, constructed with an
investment of Rp 30 billion (US$13.64 million), is owned by PT
Adichandra Grahawisata, a joint venture between Adichandra Group,
which belongs to Untung Sutomo, and the Salim Group, Indonesia's
largest conglomerate.(mun/icn)
