Radio base stations set up

JAKARTA (JP): PT Mobilkom Telekomindo will operate 22 base
stations for radio trunking in cities on Java early next month
with an investment of US$25 million, the company's president,
Bambang Sudjatmoko, said yesterday.

"Eleven of the base stations are located in Jakarta and its
surrounding areas," Bambang told reporters.

He said his company plans to establish more base stations in
Java next year as well as in Bali and Sumatra in 1997 with an
additional investment of $75 million.

Mobilkom is 40 percent owned by three domestic companies -- PT
Telekomindo Prima Bhakti, PT Inka Forindo Jaya and PT
Mitratelindo Perdana -- and 60 percent by foreign companies --
Jasmine International Plc. Inc. of Thailand, International
Wireless Communication of United and Goldman Sachs of United
