Racing lubricants from Agip

JAKARTA: Italian lubricant manufacturer Agip recently launched
its latest products of racing lubricants for motorcycles through
its Indonesian marketing arm PT Bahana Nusa Lubrindo.

The company launched Agip 2T Racing Plus, Agip 2T Speed and
Agip 4T Super Racing in an attempt to support Indonesia's
automotive sports on Sept. 8 at the sidelines of the just
concluded second Jakarta Motor Show.

"We do not set a sales target for the the newly launched
product as racing market is a niche market," marketing manager
Mico F Kaliki told reporters.

"Racing lubricant products for car is scheduled to be released
next year," he added.

All of the newly launched products are synthetic-based and can
also be used for daily usage despite its high performance.

Miko claimed the lubricants' special formula was able to
reduce the formation of sludge and deposits inside the firing
chamber leading to better performance. -- JP

Motor shows exceed targets

JAKARTA: The just concluded second Jakarta Motor Show and the
second Jakarta Motorcycle Show ended on Sunday exceeding its
initial targets of sales and visitors, the organizer said over
the weekend.

As of last Saturday, the total sales have well exceeded
initial target of Rp 600 billion (US$65 million) with car sales
amounted to more than Rp 913 billion and motorcycle sales reached
more than Rp 11 billion for a total sales of more than Rp 924.6
billion.

PT Toyota-Astra Motor led the sales with 2,001 cars sold worth
more than Rp 347 billion thanks to the newly unveiled Toyota
Kijang Innova, already the fifth generation of the popular Toyota
Kijang van.

Meanwhile, PT Astra Honda Motor sold the most motorcycles of
305 units worth some Rp 4 billion.

Attendance was lower than expected with only about 180,000
people visiting the events while organizer was expecting a hefty
200,000 visitors.

Deadly bombing outside the Australian Embassy last Thursday
might have an impact on the people's enthusiasm to visit the
shows. -- JP
