Qurban Program Reaches Tens of Thousands Across Indonesian Regions
The occasion of Eid al-Adha 1447 H serves as a reminder of the importance of sharing and social compassion within communities. Across various regions, this spirit is manifested through activities that directly benefit local environments, including those from industries operating near communities.
In this context, PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk within Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, has once again implemented its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Petrofin Berkurban. The initiative distributed 7,290 meat packages to communities across Indonesia’s operational areas as part of the company’s commitment to sustainable social benefits.
The meat distribution took place in parallel from Wednesday (27 May) to Thursday (28 May) at multiple operational sites, including a symbolic ceremony at Depo Semper. Over 130 Elnusa Petrofin operational units spread across regions such as Gorontalo, Samarinda, Ampenan, Palopo, Pontianak, Pangkal Balam, Dumai, and others participated in the distribution.
Putiarsa Bagus Wibowo, Manager of Corporate Communication & Relations at PT Elnusa Petrofin, stated that the Petrofin Berkurban programme is not only an annual agenda but also a means to strengthen the company’s relationship with communities around its operational areas.
“Through Petrofin Berkurban, the company distributed 46 cows and 115 goats to 21,870 beneficiaries, including local community members, the less fortunate, and other vulnerable groups,” said Putiarsa.
He added that in the past two years, the company has emphasised sustainability in the distribution process, including efforts to reduce environmental impact from social activities.
“As a gesture of environmental concern, this year’s meat distribution follows the Product Life Cycle principle by avoiding single-use plastics and encouraging beneficiaries to use reusable containers,” he explained.
From an operational and stakeholder relations perspective, Ferdiansyah, Director of Operations and Marketing at PT Elnusa Petrofin, emphasised that the Qurban activity is part of efforts to strengthen long-term synergy with communities.
“Positive relationships with surrounding communities and all stakeholders in operational areas are crucial for the company’s sustainability. Through Petrofin Berkurban, we aim to further strengthen synergy, foster positive closeness, and deliver sustainable value,” he stated.
Beyond social and community aspects, the programme is linked to the company’s implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the Zero Hunger target through food distribution.
Beneficiaries, including RW 04 Head Faisal, expressed appreciation for Elnusa Petrofin’s meat distribution to local communities.
“It’s heartening to see companies caring for nearby residents. The Kurban assistance from Elnusa Petrofin has directly benefited us. We hope Elnusa Petrofin continues to succeed and bring positive contributions to the community,” he said.
Similarly, Lurah Kolakaasi, H Sendi Jayadi Alex, praised the initiative for strengthening ties between the company and local residents.
“Thank you, Elnusa Petrofin, for helping distribute Kurban to our village. We hope this goodwill will maintain the relationship between Elnusa Petrofin and the community moving forward,” he said.
Through the Petrofin Berkurban programme, Elnusa Petrofin reaffirms its consistency in delivering tangible social impact while strengthening sustainability commitments across all operational areas. The initiative is expected to remain an annual event to reinforce company-community relations and create broader benefits in the future.
