Questioned for 7 Hours, Thariq Halilintar Explains Hanania Travel Endorsement

Celebrity couple Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Massaid have completed their examination at the Metro Jaya Regional Police in connection with an alleged umrah fraud by Hanania Travel. Both were questioned for approximately seven hours and faced dozens of questions regarding the case. “The questions were around 20 to 30, more or less,” said Thariq and Aaliyah’s legal counsel, Sangun Ragahdo, to reporters on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Ragahdo explained that Hanania Travel had attempted to contact Thariq Halilintar several times, even before his client married Aaliyah. In 2025, Hanania Travel again approached Thariq to collaborate on an endorsement deal. “We do not deny this was a form of endorsement. Some endorsements involve a reciprocal arrangement with money, where the employer pays and perhaps Thariq and Aaliyah advertise a product or brand, or what is known as barter. Barter in the sense of receiving a benefit, and what was the benefit? In the case of Hanania, the benefit was being sent on umrah,” he explained. According to Ragahdo, Thariq had researched Hanania Travel and at the time believed it was a credible company. In short, the cooperation agreement was accepted by Thariq. Hanania provided the benefit of a free umrah trip for Thariq, Aaliyah and their child. At that time, Thariq invited other companions, bringing the total group to eight people. However, Thariq paid for the remaining members of the group amounting to roughly IDR 170 million. “So even though we indeed received a benefit, the benefit was in the sense of a reciprocal arrangement, which at the time only involved stories. There were story posts and feed posts, and that was it. They all departed, from 8 to 15 December if I am not mistaken,” he said. Thariq and Aaliyah only discovered that Hanania Travel was problematic at the beginning of 2026. Thariq added that he was quite shocked to be dragged into the case. “Oh yes, I was shocked, very shocked by the news that was circulating. Then when we received a summons from the police, we immediately responded, saying we were ready to provide whatever help we could. I hope this can make the case crystal clear and result in a swift resolution for the victims. Essentially, we are doing our best,” Thariq added. On the same occasion, Aaliyah Massaid expressed her concern for the victims. She hopes the case can be thoroughly investigated. “I am certainly very concerned. Those wanting to go on umrah have been saving for years, so we are also truly saddened and concerned. Because we too have parents who we consider, who are perhaps older and been saving for various things, so we really hope this is resolved quickly,” she stated.
