Questioned by KPK, Haji Her Claims No Acquaintance with Suspect Customs Official

Tobacco entrepreneur from Madura, Haji Khairul Umam alias Haji Her, claimed he does not know the suspect who is an official of the Directorate of Customs and Excise when questioned by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday (9/4). “We were asked if we knew those people. Well, I answered, I don’t know them,” said Haji Her at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday (9/4) afternoon. He claimed not to know about the issues being investigated by the KPK. He said he only answered what he knew. “Yes, just confirmed, asked if I knew the suspects, well I answered I don’t know them. Then asked where I stayed? Stayed at Grand Hyatt,” he said. The examination of Haji Her was to complete the case files for seven suspects in the alleged bribery case for importing goods and gratuities. They are former Director of Investigation and Enforcement of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the period 2024-January 2026, Rizal; Head of the Subdirectorate of Enforcement Intelligence and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasubdit Intel P2 DJBC), Sisprian Subiaksono. Then Head of the Customs and Excise Intelligence Section of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasi Intel DJBC), Orlando; Chairman of the Import Document Team of PT Blueray, Andri; Employee of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Budiman Bayu Prasojo; Owner of PT Blueray named John Field; and Operational Manager of PT Blueray, Dedy Kurniawan. The suspects have been detained at the KPK’s State Detention House (Rutan). For the PT Blueray side, investigators have already handed over the case files to the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
