Quality human resources

During the sixth five-year development plan we must focus our
attention on enhancing the quality of human resources and the
quality of the life. The values of social justice must touch
every aspect of life.

According to President Soeharto, the nation will be faced with
more complicated challenges during this phase. This is not only
due to the unpredictability of global development but also the
increased development of the country. Development and its
delicate problems has urged all parties to exert their potential.
But we should not rest on our laurels but be motivated to achieve
more.

All nations in the world are engaged in a race for
development. Unfortunately the greater the pace of development is
the more destruction is done to the environment. Indonesia is no
exception. The environmental damage is not only caused by the
irresponsible attitude of forest concession holders, slash and
burn farmers and locals stealing trees, but also by the forest
fires caused by the prolonged drought.
