The semiconductor company Qualcomm has officially launched a new System on Chip (SoC) called Snapdragon C. The ARM-based chip is designed for entry-level Windows 11 laptops.

Qualcomm is targeting a market currently dominated by budget laptops such as Chromebooks and Apple’s new MacBook Neo.

The Snapdragon C boasts power efficiency, quiet cooling systems, and responsive performance.

Qualcomm has not yet disclosed detailed specifications of the new chip. The US-based company confirmed that the Snapdragon C integrates a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI processing.

However, the chip does not fall under the Copilot+ PC category like the Snapdragon X Elite series, as it targets entry-level laptops typically with less than 16GB of RAM.

This suggests the chip may have a specific NPU or be paired with RAM under 16GB.

Regarding battery life, Qualcomm claims devices with the Snapdragon C will last all day due to energy efficiency.

“Snapdragon C is designed to deliver power-efficient and reliable daily computing experiences for entry-level laptop users, thanks to its all-day battery life and consistent performance,” said Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Gaming at Qualcomm.

The chip supports Windows 11, but it is unclear whether devices using it will run Windows 11 25H2 or 26H1, similar to Snapdragon X2 devices.

Qualcomm has also not revealed the CPU architecture for the Snapdragon C, as it is reportedly not using Oryon processor cores like the Snapdragon X Elite.

The company promised to disclose more details in the coming months.

Several laptop vendors have confirmed they will adopt the Snapdragon C, including Acer, HP, and Lenovo, which will release Windows 11 laptops with the new chip.

However, it is unknown which vendor will be the first to market laptops with Qualcomm’s new chip.

The first laptops with Snapdragon C are expected to launch by the end of 2026.
