Quake destroys five houses
DILI, East Timor: Five buildings tumbled when a powerful earthquake rocked the town of Maliana on Tuesday, Antara reported.
A church and the regency administration office were partially damaged by the quake, which measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, the news agency said.
There were no reports of casualties yesterday afternoon, although the tremor, which lasted about 45 seconds, was felt by most people in Maliana as well as in Dili.
