QRIS Transactions in Indonesia Are Fantastic

Digital transaction growth in Indonesia continues to exhibit positive trends, even amidst the challenging dynamics of the global economy.

While various countries face economic pressures, Indonesia’s domestic transaction activities continue to grow, reflecting high resilience in the digital economic ecosystem. One indicator of this is seen during the 2026 Eid period, where transaction activities remained on the rise.

In this regard, as one of the backbones of Indonesia’s payment industry, PT Alto Network recorded a 50% year-on-year increase in transaction volume growth compared to the same period in the previous year.

This trend further strengthens Indonesia’s position as one of the markets with dynamic economic growth. In recent years, the scale of digital transactions has expanded rapidly, with transaction volumes reaching hundreds of millions to billions of Rupiah per year.

Bank Indonesia (BI) data shows that digital banking transactions have grown by more than 20-30% year-on-year, while QRIS has even exceeded 100% during its initial adoption phase, affirming its contribution to the national payment ecosystem.

The high adoption of digital payments in Indonesia is also reflected in the significant growth of QRIS transactions processed by Alto Network, with transaction volume increasing by 89.56% and transaction value growing by 94.18% year-on-year (March 2025 compared to March 2026).

Alto Network’s Chief Executive, Gretel Griselda, stated that despite the various challenges posed by global conditions, Indonesia’s payment ecosystem demonstrates strong resilience.

“In the midst of the current global economic conditions, which tend to have high volatility, we see that payment trends in Indonesia remain stable and even tend to strengthen. Currently, we process up to 30 million transactions per day,” she revealed in Jakarta on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
