Bank Indonesia (BI) has reported that QRIS transactions continued to grow at a high rate, reaching 108.43 per cent year-on-year as of April 2026. Up to this period, QRIS has been adopted by 63 million users and more than 45 million merchants, the majority of whom are MSMEs.

To appreciate this achievement and the parties involved, Bank Indonesia, through the Banten Provincial Representative Office, organised the Digiwara Festival 2026. This annual event aims to strengthen the Islamic economic ecosystem while accelerating digital transformation within the Bante region.

During this year’s event, GoPay received the prestigious Digiwara Awards 2026, being named the best Payment Service Provider (PJP) in the QRIS expansion programme under the non-bank category. The award, presented during the festival held from 22–24 May 2026, was awarded to GoPay for achieving the largest QRIS transaction market share in the Banten region throughout 2025 among other financial service providers.

“We are grateful and thankful to Bank Indonesia for the award received. We also extend our thanks to our customers who trust GoPay as a payment service provider for transactions using QRIS,” said Kelvin Timotius, Head of GoPay Wallet, in a statement on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

He noted that this moment serves as evidence of GoPay’s consistency in expanding digital financial transaction services to the public, particularly through a lightweight application that is easy and secure for all demographics to use. Furthermore, Kelvin explained that the GoPay application is designed to meet the daily financial needs of its users, including facilitating secure and easy cashless payments via QRIS.

“The public is increasingly relying on cashless transactions. Therefore, we are committed to providing innovative digital payment services for all needs through the GoPay application,” said Kelvin. “We also hope that this innovation serves as a supportive step for Bank Indonesia in driving payment digitalisation.”
