QRIS Gains Popularity, Financial Services Begin to Adapt
The development of digital payments in Indonesia continues to accelerate. One indicator of this trend is the growth of QRIS, which recorded 15 billion cumulative transactions with 67 million users as of July 2026.
The Government and Bank Indonesia (BI) also continue to encourage the digital payment ecosystem to become more user-friendly, including through the policy of eliminating QRIS transaction fees starting from October 2026.
This shift requires various financial platforms to adjust their services to match public transaction habits. Ease of use, speed, and access to familiar payment methods have become crucial factors in building user experience.
One platform undertaking such adjustments is Finex. Throughout 2026, the company has been expanding its local payment infrastructure by introducing various deposit methods while simultaneously updating transaction processes to make them more practical for users.
Fineex stated that these developments were driven by feedback from traders, particularly regarding the experience of topping up accounts, accessing funds, and encountering obstacles during the payment process.
Since the beginning of the year, Finex has gradually introduced several local deposit methods. In January, the company launched BRI Virtual Accounts, followed by BNI, CIMB, and Mandiri Virtual Accounts in February.
In March, payment options were expanded to include LinkAja and ShopeePay. Subsequently, OVO and BCA push notifications became available in April, while DANA and QRIS were introduced in July.
All these payment methods are available with zero commission fees. According to the company, QRIS has become one of the most widely used methods by users and currently contributes approximately 45 per cent of the total deposits on the platform.
The high usage of QRIS demonstrates that payment methods that have become part of the public’s daily activities can be more easily integrated into digital activities, including transactions on financial platforms.
In addition to adding payment methods, Finex is also updating its mechanism for handling transaction issues. Previously, payment requests with mismatched information were at risk of being rejected immediately.
Through the new system, users can identify which parts need correction and perform adjustments, such as replacing invalid transfer proofs or adjusting transaction amounts, without having to restart the entire process from the beginning.
