Qodari: Visits by three world leaders prove Indonesia is increasingly trusted globally

Jakarta - The visits of three world leaders to Indonesia for bilateral meetings with President Prabowo Subianto prove that Indonesia is increasingly trusted as an important partner on the global stage, according to the Head of the Government Communication Body (Bakom) RI, Muhammad Qodari. “The intensity of these meetings reflects the strengthening of international trust in Indonesia as a strategic partner, both at the regional and global levels,” Qodari said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. Qodari explained that the series of visits reflects the international community’s view of Indonesia as a country possessing economic resilience and political stability, which are crucial foundations for building mutually beneficial cooperation. He highlighted the three visits and a number of cooperation outcomes agreed upon with Indonesia. According to him, the arrival of the three leaders from different regions demonstrates that Indonesia is consistently building strong networks of friendship and partnership with various countries. The first visit occurred on Thursday (2/7) when President Prabowo received President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko. The meeting opened up opportunities for cooperation in the industrial, heavy equipment, and technology sectors, as well as strengthening economic relations with the Eurasian region. The two countries also launched the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Strengthening Roadmap 2026-2030 as a joint framework to strengthen more concrete cooperation over the next five years. Second, on Monday (6/7), Prabowo received a visit from Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. During the meeting, the two countries agreed on 26 cooperation achievements in various fields, ranging from regional economic development and clean energy to the digital economy. Third, Prabowo met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With India, Indonesia is not only strengthening economic partnership but also cooperation in education, institutional strengthening, and people-to-people relations. The Indonesia-India partnership also encompasses the cultural sector, reflected in the commitment of both countries to restore the Prambanan Temple Complex. Through the diversification of partnerships, Indonesia can strengthen its national economic resilience against global turmoil, expand export market access, open up new investment opportunities, and enhance Indonesia’s bargaining position in various international forums. Moreover, all these meetings and agreements are a reflection of Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy principle in protecting national interests. Amidst global dynamics full of uncertainty, Qodari stated that Indonesia chooses to expand the space for collaboration rather than narrow its options or side with any single power. “This principle is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s expression that for Indonesia, 1,000 friends are still too few, while one enemy is already too many,” concluded Muhammad Qodari.
