Qodari Praises Cabinet Secretary Teddy for Understanding the Route and Requirements of Leadership
Head of the Government Communication Agency, Muhammad Qodari, has expressed appreciation for the briefing material delivered by Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya to approximately 1,600 cadets of the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java. According to Qodari, the material presented by Seskab Teddy not only ignited the cadets’ spirit but also showcased the quality of his thinking and leadership capacity. The messages felt powerful because they were born from the journey, experience, and long process Teddy underwent in his military career. ‘Pak Teddy is extraordinary. He is an example for the cadets and for others,’ Qodari said in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7). The briefing, which lasted approximately three hours, emphasised the importance of building leadership with integrity, upholding togetherness, and strengthening the commitment to serving the nation and state. Seskab Teddy also encouraged the cadets to continuously develop their personal capacity, maintain discipline, and prepare themselves to face various future challenges. One of Teddy’s messages that left the deepest impression on Qodari was the courage to choose the difficult path as part of the process of self-formation and leadership. ‘The most impressive message: ’Seek the hardest thing. Go into it.’ Class,’ Qodari remarked. Qodari assessed that the message carries deep meaning. A leader, he said, is not shaped by easy paths, but by the courage to face challenges, the willingness to undergo the process, and the determination to continuously improve one’s abilities. ‘It is only natural that Pak Teddy becomes a future leader because he understands the route and the requirements for leadership,’ he stressed. This assessment is inseparable from Teddy’s long journey in the military. He holds several elite qualifications, including from the Army Special Forces Command (Kopassus), the 81st Counter-Terrorism Unit (Satuan-81 Gultor), and the US Army Ranger. Teddy’s achievements were also prominent during his education at the United States Army Infantry School at Fort Benning in 2019, where he was named International Honor Graduate among 185 participants. He also received the Commandant’s List Award and the Gold Army Physical Fitness Test award with a perfect physical fitness score. A year later, Teddy successfully completed the US Army Ranger School, an elite school known for its strict graduation standards that test physical and mental endurance, tactical skills, and leadership. For this achievement, Teddy earned the right to wear the Ranger Tab. According to Qodari, this track record made the material Teddy delivered to the cadets feel authentic and relevant. Teddy did not just speak about leadership conceptually, but shared lessons forged through rigorous education, field experience, discipline, and dedication. ‘This kind of briefing is important because the cadets need real role models. They need to see that to become a national leader requires integrity, the courage to face difficulties, continuously honed capacity, and a strong commitment to serving the country,’ Qodari concluded.
