Qodari: Manggarai housing expands home access for low-income communities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari has said that the affordable housing development programme in the Manggarai area of Jakarta is part of the implementation of the 3 Million Houses Programme for low-income communities (MBR).
Speaking at the groundbreaking of the Manggarai housing project in Jakarta on Friday, Qodari said the programme is one of the breakthroughs of the administration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in expanding access to home ownership for low-income communities, particularly in urban areas.
“So, this is intended for low-income communities. For urban areas, the design is vertical housing, with the land provided by KAI and the financing from BTN,” Qodari said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
The inter-agency synergy represents a strategic government step in providing decent housing in areas with high economic value, while still remaining accessible to low-income communities.
According to him, the presence of housing in locations close to centres of community activity will provide greater benefits, not only in terms of home ownership but also in reducing transport cost burdens and improving residents’ quality of life.
“So this is a breakthrough from the Government to provide opportunities for all communities, especially low-income communities, to own homes, particularly in urban areas. This land is very strategic, close to centres of activity,” Qodari said.
He expressed hope that the entire construction process can proceed according to plan so that the public can immediately feel the benefits of the programme.
Furthermore, Qodari stressed that accurate targeting is the most important aspect in the implementation of the affordable housing project.
“We have also seen the mock-up earlier; there is an image behind here depicting the units available, very good. So this is of quality. We pray that the construction proceeds according to plan and can be allocated to those who truly need it and truly deserve it,” Qodari said.
