Qodari: Law Enforced Without Discrimination in MBG Corruption Case

Head of the Government Communication Body (Bakom) RI, Muhammad Qodari, stated that the alleged involvement of an active TNI soldier and the naming of an active police officer as suspects in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme governance corruption case shows that the law is being enforced without discrimination.

Speaking after opening a sports competition between media outlets in Jakarta on Saturday, Qodari emphasised that the legal process concerning the alleged corruption in MBG management at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is currently being handled by the Attorney General’s Office.

“The law is now being enforced without discrimination, regardless of background,” Qodari said, echoing the President’s stance.

He explained that the legal process does not consider the background of the suspects, but rather focuses on their activities while working within the BGN. “It is not because of their background as police or non-police, but because of the issues that occurred while they were assigned to the place where the case happened, namely BGN,” he added.

Qodari urged all parties to wait for the ongoing legal process and future developments.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office announced the discovery of the alleged involvement of an active TNI soldier in the MBG programme corruption case. The Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated on Thursday that the soldier, identified by the initials BU, served as the Secretary of the Deputy for Provision and Distribution at BGN.

Furthermore, the Attorney General’s Office had earlier named an active police officer, identified by the initials LMI, who previously served as the Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at BGN, as a suspect in the alleged MBG governance corruption case.
