JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Muhammad Qodari has stated that he has been asked by President Prabowo Subianto to assist in the field of communication to ensure that government work programmes run at maximum capacity.

Qodari confirmed that he will be inaugurated in a new position on Monday (27/4/2026) today, after receiving a phone call from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

“Earlier, on the phone with the Cabinet Secretary, the President asked me to help with the communication process to communicate maximally for the government’s work programmes, the background of which is our national goals. First, of course, to protect the entire Indonesian nation,” said Qodari at the Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2026).

When asked if this means he will become the Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Qodari declined to reveal it prematurely.

However, Qodari said that if needed in the field of communication, it would be the task of Bakom.

“So, Head of Bakom?” asked a reporter.

“Precisely, we wait for the President because it is the President’s prerogative,” he replied.

It is known that the current Head of Bakom position is held by Angga Raka Prabowo.

Meanwhile, the President’s Special Advisor for National Defence Affairs, Dudung Abdurachman, stated that he has already received instructions from Prabowo regarding KSP tasks.

It was reported that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is carrying out a reshuffle of the Merah Putih Cabinet on Monday (27/4/2026).

Based on Kompas.com observations, several figures have arrived at the Presidential Palace Complex to attend the inauguration as state officials.

The figures present include the President’s Special Advisor for National Defence Affairs Dudung Abdurachman, Presidential Chief of Staff M Qodari, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol.

Then, former Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi, former Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding, and labour figure Jumhur Hidayat.

They all wore black suits and blue ties in unison.

When asked about the purpose of their arrival, they uniformly stated that they would be inaugurated by Prabowo, but kept the positions they would hold secret.
