Qodari Emphasises that Government Communication Must Be Proactive and Adaptive
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, emphasised the need for government communication to be more proactive and adaptive to developments in the digital era and social media. In his speech at the handover ceremony for the position of Bakom Head in Jakarta on Tuesday, he stated that old communication patterns are no longer adequate because the flow of information now moves very quickly in the digital space. “Going forward, I hope Bakom can be more proactive. Proactive, if we use the term, aggressive in communicating government policies. Why aggressive? Because there are so many programmes from Mr President (Prabowo), they’re new, and as I said, this is a new paradigm,” Qodari said. Qodari also stressed the importance of data-based communication and in-depth analysis to build public trust in government policies. Furthermore, Qodari asked all Bakom personnel to work by prioritising sharpness and depth in thinking to provide assurance to the public regarding government programmes. Qodari stated that he will conduct internal consolidation by listening to work programmes in all deputy offices before strengthening the national communication strategy of the Prabowo Subianto administration. Qodari also conveyed thanks and appreciation to Angga Raka Prabowo for his contributions in building the institutional foundation of Bakom, including the transition process from the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) to the Government Communication Agency. Qodari assessed that Angga had prepared the organisational structure, recruited professional personnel, and built a budget framework that serves as the basis for the agency’s operations. “Thank you and the highest appreciation to Mr Angga Raka Prabowo for his dedication and strategic contributions in building government communication, especially in enhancing the coherence of policy narratives, consolidating communication channels, and managing public issues,” he added.
