Qodari Denies Rumours of Prabowo's Italy Visit Following France Trip

Government Communication Bureau (Bakom) Head M. Qodari has denied social media reports regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s planned visit to Italy following his trip to France. ‘First, there was never any official statement from the Indonesian government that the President would visit Italy,’ he said during a press conference on Sunday (31 May). Qodari emphasised that the President’s initial work trip was solely to France to meet President Emmanuel Macron. He explained that without official government confirmation, any such plans remain tentative. ‘Second, the official schedule is only for France. Third, any additional destinations during the trip are merely tentative until officially confirmed by the government,’ he added. During the same press conference, Qodari stated that the President’s visit yielded cooperation agreements in defence, education—particularly in STEM sectors—as well as energy and mineral utilisation. Social media had previously circulated claims that President Prabowo Subianto would continue his official trip to Italy after France.
