The Qatari government evacuated residents living near the area of the U.S. Embassy in Doha as a precautionary measure to maintain public safety.

“To maintain public safety, the Ministry of Interior announced that the relevant authorities were evacuating residents living around the U.S. Embassy as a temporary precaution,” the Ministry of Interior said in a statement posted on X, cited by Al Jazeera, on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

The Qatari government also said it had arranged accommodation for those evacuated from the area.

“Appropriate accommodation has been provided for them as part of the necessary precaution,” it added.

It is understood that the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as the U.S. Consulate in Dubai, have been targeted by Iranian drones in recent days. In addition, several U.S. military bases in the Middle East have also been targeted by Iranian attacks. This was in response to Iran’s retaliatory actions intensifying its attacks on U.S. military facilities and U.S. diplomatic offices in several Middle Eastern countries following the U.S.-Israel attack.
