Qantas starts E-ticket sales
JAKARTA (JP) : Australian airline Qantas Airways has launched an electronic ticket (E-ticket) facility in Jakarta and Bali to expedite ticketing, Qantas sales manager Ronny Mampouw announced on Monday.
"This high-technology service brings convenience, ease and security to customers in which they don't have to worry about losing the ticket," Ronny added.
Customers can make phone reservations and specify their preferred form of payment, with Qantas dispatching the E-ticket confirmation through facsimile or mail.
Passengers need only provide their E-ticket booking number and show their passport at the check-in counter at the airport to obtain their boarding pass, said Ronny.
Indonesia is the third Asian country after Hong Kong and the Philippines with Qantas' E-ticket facility.
The world's second oldest airline started services to Jakarta in April 1950. It provides almost daily connections from Jakarta and Denpasar to several major cities in Australia. (01)
