Qantas receives RI awards
JAKARTA (JP): Australian airline Qantas Airways recently received the Best Airline 2000 and the Best Business Partner awards from the operator of Soekarno-Hatta airport, PT Angkasa Pura II.
Qantas Airways airport manager Salam Ibrahim said Qantas received the awards because of its excellent financial record, high operating standards and excellent administration.
The general manager for Qantas Airways in Indonesia said the awards reflected the airline's commitment to providing the best service to its customers in Indonesia.
Qantas, the world's second oldest airline, had its first flight to Jakarta in 1950.
To date, along with 134 destinations in 37 countries, Qantas serves routes from Jakarta to Sydney five times a week, with connecting flights to Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
It also flies from Jakarta to Perth twice a week, from Denpasar to Darwin three times a week and from Jakarta to Singapore five times a week, with connecting flights to Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and Bombay.
Qantas established a joint office in 1999 with British Airways in Jakarta as part of their alliance operation. (05)
