Istanbul (ANTARA) - Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has stressed that following a new wave of American strikes against Iran, the Strait of Hormuz will only be opened according to Iran’s rules and not because of threats from the US. In a post on X on Thursday, Qalibaf said the US has yet to realise that intimidation and broken promises can no longer be carried out without consequence. “The United States has not learned that acts of intimidation and reneging on promises can no longer be done without consequence. Let me emphasise: If you attack, you will also be attacked,” Qalibaf said. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) subsequently stated that US forces had launched follow-up strikes against Iran. According to CENTCOM, the operation aims to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
