Q2/2026 Investment Realisation Reaches Rp511.8 Trillion, Absorbing 742,263 Workers
The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded investment realisation of Rp511.8 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, which absorbed 742,263 workers. Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani stated that this figure represents 25.1% of the national investment target of Rp2,041.3 trillion for the full year. “Investment entering in the second three months of 2026 reached Rp511.8 trillion, an increase of 7.1%,” Rosan said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (16/7/2026). He explained that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026 was Rp498.8 trillion, or about 24.4% of the annual target. This brings the total investment realisation for the first half of 2026 to Rp1,010.6 trillion. The investment in the second quarter of 2026 created 742,263 jobs, a 5.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Rosan noted that the composition of investment remained relatively balanced between domestic investment (PMDN) and foreign investment (PMA), with PMDN contributing 49.6% and PMA 50.4% of the total. In terms of regional distribution, investment between Java and outside Java was also considered balanced. Rosan further assessed that long-term investment commitment from key partner countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea remains strong. He recently returned from China and observed high optimism among business actors regarding Indonesia’s investment prospects. “They see that investment in Indonesia is consistently growing and performing well, and generating good returns, so investors remain committed to investing in Indonesia,” he said. Rosan concluded that this optimism is supported by the government’s efforts to maintain the investment climate through regulatory simplification and increased legal certainty, particularly in the business licensing process.
