JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani announced that investment realisation in the second quarter of 2025 — excluding the upstream oil and gas and financial services sectors — reached Rp477.7 trillion, or 25.1 per cent of the Rp1,905.6 trillion investment target.

On a year-on-year basis, Q2 2025 investment realisation rose 11.5 per cent compared with the same period last year, which recorded Rp428.4 trillion. Quarter-on-quarter, the figure represented a 2.7 per cent increase from Q1 2025's Rp465.2 trillion.

"Most importantly, the investment that came in during the second quarter successfully absorbed 665,764 workers," Rosan explained at the Q2 and First Half 2025 Investment Realisation press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (29 July 2025).

Of the total Q2 2025 investment realisation of Rp477.7 trillion, domestic investment (PMDN) contributed Rp275.5 trillion (57.7 per cent), exceeding foreign investment (PMA) which recorded Rp202.2 trillion (42.3 per cent).

The contribution between Java and outside Java was relatively balanced, with Java recording Rp237.5 trillion (49.7 per cent) and areas outside Java recording Rp240.2 trillion (50.3 per cent).

"Investment is more evenly distributed across all regions. As a result, growth and new economic sectors, including job creation, are also increasingly spread out," Rosan said.
