JAKARTA - The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, predicts that Indonesia’s investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026 will reach Rp497 trillion. This achievement is estimated to experience a growth of 7% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Rosan stated that although final data will only be available in mid-April, the current trends indicate positive signals towards achieving the government’s targets.

“Alhamdulillah, we are still waiting until the 15th, but with this development, insyaAllah, the target set by the government for the first quarter can be achieved, namely Rp497 trillion, meaning growth of around 7% annually,” said Rosan during a working meeting with Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Monday (13/4/2026).

In line with the increase in investment value, labour absorption is also projected to rise by 5.5%. Approximately 627,000 people are estimated to be successfully absorbed into new job opportunities thanks to the investment realisation in the first three months of this year.

The downstreaming sector continues to play a crucial role, contributing around 30% of the total incoming capital. In terms of country of origin, investors from Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States still dominate the investment landscape in the country.
