Q1 2025 Investment Realisation Reaches Rp465.2 Trillion, Proving Business Confidence in Indonesia
JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that the Q1 2025 investment realisation of Rp465.2 trillion is proof that the business community has confidence in Indonesia.
"This confidence from the business community, both domestic and foreign, in Indonesia is very well maintained," he said at the Indonesia AI Day event in Jakarta on Thursday.
Rosan noted that the quarterly investment figure reached 24.4 per cent of the annual national target of Rp1,905.6 trillion. Compared to the same period in the previous year, capital investment flowing into Indonesia rose by 15.9 per cent.
Furthermore, the government successfully created 594,104 new jobs during the quarter. "Most importantly, we created employment absorption totalling 594,104 people," he said.
Minister Rosan added that one of the sectors making a major contribution to investment realisation in Indonesia is downstream processing in the mining sector, with an average contribution of up to 23 per cent. His ministry is therefore encouraging the development of this sector, including through the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to boost productivity and competitiveness.
"For us, this can make things better and ensure we can always compete with many countries," Minister Rosan said.
The Q1 2025 investment realisation of Rp465.2 trillion was in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries.
