JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that the Q1 2025 investment realisation of Rp 465.2 trillion is proof that Indonesia remains trusted by the business community.

"This confidence from the business world, both domestically and internationally, towards Indonesia is very well maintained," he said at the Indonesia AI Day for Mining Industry event in Jakarta on Thursday (24/4/2025).

Rosan explained that the quarterly investment figure reached 24.4% of the annual national target of Rp 1,905.6 trillion. Compared to the previous year on a year-on-year basis, the value of capital investment flowing into Indonesia rose by 15.9%.

Additionally, during Q1 2025 the government successfully created up to 594,104 new jobs. "And most importantly, we created employment absorption totalling 594,104 people," he said.

Furthermore, Minister Rosan noted that one of the sectors making a significant contribution to investment realisation in Indonesia is downstream processing in the mining sector, with an average contribution of up to 23%. His ministry is therefore promoting the development of this sector, including through the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to boost productivity and competitiveness.

"For us, this can make things better and allow us to always compete with many countries," he added.

The Q1 2025 investment realisation of Rp 465.2 trillion is in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries.
