Pyrolysis Machine Tested at TOSS Klungkung: Used Tyres Converted into Oil
The pyrolysis waste machine at the Local Waste Processing Centre (TOSS) in Karangdadi Hamlet, Kusamba Village, Klungkung, underwent testing on Sunday (7/6/2026). The machine is capable of processing 750 kilograms of waste in a single 10-hour cycle.
Trial results showed that the machine could process 13 used truck tyres to produce 120 litres of pyrolysis oil in a single heating cycle. In addition to the tyre trials, the machine was also tested using 200 kg of sorted waste, known as Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), which yielded 80 litres of pyrolysis oil.
The Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, monitored the results of the small-capacity pyrolysis machine. He noted that the machine’s performance met expectations and represents a breakthrough in waste management within the Klungkung region.
“The smallest machine has been tested as expected. Next, we just need to conduct emission tests to ensure its operation is truly environmentally friendly,” Satria stated via a press release.
The PDIP politician explained that the waste processing via the pyrolysis machine is conducted through high-temperature heating. Through this technology, the emissions released through the chimney consist of water vapour rather than smoke.
Satria expressed hope that all testing stages would be completed promptly so that full operations could commence by the end of June. “The sooner it can be operated, the better, so that waste management efforts in Klungkung can run more optimally,” he added.
It is noted that the pyrolysis waste machine at the Klungkung TOSS Centre is a product of the Andersons Group from the Cook Islands. The machine is managed by PT Inpac Solutions Indo in partnership with PT Bali Bersih Bersinar.
