Pylontech, a leading global energy storage system provider, has launched its new utility-scale energy storage solution, PyOcean, at Intersolar Europe in Munich. The platform is available in two configurations: a 6.4 MWh system using 601Ah cells and a 6.26 MWh system using 588Ah cells, both developed internally by Pylontech. This launch demonstrates Pylontech’s integrated capabilities, from battery cell development to system integration, and represents another important step in its expansion into the utility-scale energy storage market. PyOcean maximises operational efficiency and long-term asset value across various application scenarios. The 6.4 MWh (0.25P) system is suitable for co-located renewable energy projects, energy shifting, capacity-value projects, and meeting peak evening electricity demand. The 6.26 MWh (0.5P) system is designed for standalone battery energy storage systems, grid-side flexibility, peak-shaving, and other high-cycle applications. Powered by Pylontech’s independently developed large-format battery cells, both new systems offer higher energy density and improved project efficiency. The 6.4 MWh system integrates 601Ah cells with an energy density of up to 426 Wh/L, delivering greater energy capacity within a standard 20-foot container. This design also reduces land requirements, infrastructure needs, and total project costs. Additionally, PyOcean features a factory pre-assembled design to accelerate implementation. The system is equipped with multi-layered safety protection from the cell to the system level and is supported by a Local Energy Management System for smarter operational management. These features help customers optimise asset performance throughout the project lifecycle. Pylontech has long been recognised as a global leader in the residential energy storage segment but has been steadily expanding into the commercial and utility-scale storage market. Over the past year, the company has completed several large-scale projects, including a 400 MWh utility storage project in Ningxia and an 80 MWh project in Jiangsu, China. Its capability in delivering large-scale projects is also reflected in its inclusion on the BloombergNEF Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer list. With 17 years of experience in the energy storage industry, Pylontech continues to strengthen its capabilities by expanding its global service network. The company now has nine overseas subsidiaries and 25 local service centres across various countries, providing technical support and full lifecycle services in key energy storage markets. A company spokesperson stated, ‘We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient energy storage solutions for a variety of application needs. We will continue to work with our partners to build a more resilient and sustainable energy future.’
