PWNU NTB Ready to Host the 35th NU Congress
The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU NTB) has submitted its readiness to host the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress. This readiness was conveyed through an official letter sent to the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) as a demonstration of PWNU NTB’s commitment to the success of the event.
PWNU NTB Chairman, Prof. Masnun Tahir, stated that NTB’s readiness encompasses not only the technical aspects of organisation but also the preparedness of human resources and the solidity of the NU organisation at all levels in West Nusa Tenggara.
“PWNU NTB has officially declared its readiness to host the 35th NU Congress. We have conveyed this readiness through an official letter to PBNU,” said Prof. Masnun in his statement on Monday (30/3/2026).
He emphasised that this readiness stems from the confidence that NU in NTB possesses organisational strength, support from Nahdliyin communities, and adequate infrastructure to organise a major national event.
“What we are preparing is not only the technical aspects of the organisation but also the readiness of human resources and the solidity of the NU organisation at all levels in NTB. Insyaallah, we are ready if given the mandate to host the 35th NU Congress,” he explained.
Prof. Masnun stressed that there are several strong reasons why NTB is worthy and ready to host the NU Congress. In addition to organisational readiness and community support, NTB also has a historical legacy and important figures in the journey of Nahdlatul Ulama.
“Another reason is the presence of our NU elder here, Al-Mukarrom TGH Lalu Muhammad Turmuzi Badaruddin. This becomes part of the moral and historical strength for us in NTB to serve and ensure the success of the NU Congress,” said Prof. Masnun.
He added that NTB’s readiness is also supported by the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government. On several occasions, the NTB Governor has expressed readiness to support and ensure the success of the 2026 NU Congress.
“The NTB Governor has, on several occasions, expressed readiness and support to ensure the success of the 2026 NU Congress. This certainly provides additional motivation for us that this effort is jointly supported,” he added.
Prof. Masnun expressed that hosting the NU Congress is an honour for the Nahdlatul Ulama community in NTB. Therefore, all elements of the organisation in the region are ready to work together to provide the best service if that trust is granted.
“This is not merely about organising an event, but also part of our service to the jam’iyah. NTB is ready to welcome kiai, officials, and NU members from across Indonesia,” he concluded.
