PWNU DKI Jakarta received a sacrificial cow from President Prabowo Subianto weighing approximately 800 kilograms for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Idul Adha celebrations.

Samsul Ma’arif, Chairman of PWNU DKI Jakarta, stated at Perumda Dharma Jaya in Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Thursday: “We received the President’s sacrificial cow a few days ago, two or three days ago if I’m not mistaken. It weighs around 800 kilograms.”

In addition to the President’s donation, PWNU DKI Jakarta also received sacrificial animals from other officials, including Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Jakarta Regional Police Chief, and Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid.

In total, PWNU DKI Jakarta received approximately 13 cows this year.

For the first time, the sacrificial animal slaughter process was carried out in collaboration with Perumda Dharma Jaya.

Samsul stated that the modern slaughter system is more effective than traditional methods previously used, saying: “It is more practical, hygienic, and better maintains sanitation.”

The sacrificial meat is distributed across six regions of Jakarta: East, West, South, Central, North, and the Thousand Islands, through local NU networks.

Samsul confirmed the distribution process is well-organised, whether through direct handouts or delivery systems based on recipients’ needs, adding: “The key is clear addresses and recipients. Distribution can now be handled in various ways.”

Samsul hopes this modern slaughter model will serve as an example for government agencies and other community organisations in Jakarta.
