PWI Jaya has new chairman

JAKARTA (JP): Marah Sakti is the new chairman of the Jakarta chapter of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI Jaya), replacing outgoing Tarman Azzam, who has been appointed chairman of the central association.

Marah's appointment was decided in a special meeting on Wednesday presided over by Tarman in his capacity as PWI Jaya's chairman for the 1995 to 1999 period.

The meeting also selected Jacub Hamzah as the chapter's secretary.

Both Marah and Jacub were assigned to set up a new PWI Jaya board of executives as several former members, including Ilham Bintang and Reinhart Simanjuntak, were chosen to work in the central association. (emf)
