PWI hands over donations
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI)
gave food donations to seven city orphanages and scholarships to
200 children of widows of city journalists on Sunday.
The donations and scholarships were handed over by PWI's
general chairman Tarman Azzam in conjunction with a commemoration
of the association's 53rd anniversary.
"This activity constitutes an ongoing PWI program," said
Tarman, reported Antara.
Similar donations were also given to recipients in other
cities throughout the country in cooperation with the
association's branches.
The seven orphanages receiving donations were Kampung Melayu
orphanage (which has 72 orphans), Putra Setia (58), Dakwah
Islamiyah (128), At Taqwa (102), Nurul Islam (155), Vincensius
Putra (365), and Vincensius Putri (150).
