PW Persis DKI Distributes Scholarships and Assistance During Ramadan Care 2026
Jakarta — The Regional Leadership of Persatuan Islam (Persis) in Jakarta has distributed undergraduate education scholarships to 250 students and assistance to orphans, the disadvantaged, and disabled individuals through the Ramadan Care 2026 programme.
Zen Abdul Rahim, chairman of the Ramadan Care 2026 committee, stated that the programme forms part of Persis’s commitment to supporting educational access for the community, particularly for those from low-income families.
“Through this programme, we aim to ensure that economic conditions do not prevent young people from continuing their education. Ramadan also presents the best opportunity to strengthen social awareness and provide benefits to those around us,” Zen said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Wahyudin, secretary of PW Persis in Jakarta, emphasised that social activities of this nature represent the role of civil society organisations in strengthening solidarity within the community.
“Persis Jakarta is committed to continuing its contributions in the fields of Islamic outreach, education, and social services. Support for education is one of our important priorities because education is the pathway to improving the quality of life for the community,” he said.
