PVMBG Records 240 Eruptions of Mount Anak Krakatau Since July

The Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), via the Anak Krakatau Volcano Observation Post in Pasauran, Serang Regency, Banten, has recorded an increase in the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau, which has experienced 240 eruptions between July and September 2026.

According to Muhammad Dika Nurzaman, an officer at the Krakatau Pasauran Volcano Observation Post, the highest level of activity occurred on Saturday, 5 September, at 00:01 WIB, where continuous eruptions took place accompanied by loud explosions and rumbling sounds caused by the eruptions.
