Russian infrastructure damaged by Ukrainian military attacks is being restored quickly, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The problems that have arisen are not critical. Everything is functioning stably and has a large reserve capacity,” Putin said in an interview with Vesti, as quoted by RIA Novosti on Monday (29/6).

He also stated that the attacks, which he described as Ukrainian terrorist actions, do not affect the situation on the front line.

“All these terrorist attacks have no impact on the situation on the front line. This is fundamental. All attacks, wherever they hit our infrastructure, do not affect the situation on the front line or at the contact line at all,” he said.

According to Putin, Ukraine is attempting to force Russia to halt its offensive by attacking civilian infrastructure.

“In general, attacks on our civilian infrastructure are carried out not only to cause us damage, although I think that is important to the enemy, but also to support an information campaign as part of the confrontation with Russia,” he remarked.

Putin stated that the campaign aims to sow doubt among the Russian people, divide national unity, and force Russia to temporarily halt its attacks at the contact line to create favourable conditions for the start of a negotiation process.

“We will not give them such an opportunity,” said Putin.
