Moscow (ANTARA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Thursday (14/5), stated that Moscow wants to create and expand mutually beneficial technology alliances with other countries despite Western sanctions and external pressures.

Speaking at the congress marking the 10th anniversary of the Russian Machine Builders’ Union in Moscow, Putin said that by combining intellectual potential and other resources from various countries based on mutual respect for interests “it will open up additional opportunities”.

“We intend to create and expand mutually beneficial alliances with other countries and support initiatives from foreign partners that use Russian engines, equipment, and technology platforms,” Putin said.

According to Putin, Russian manufacturing production in 2025 will increase by 25 per cent compared to the pre-sanctions level in 2021, while overall industrial production will rise by 12 per cent over the same period.

“And more broadly, industrial production in Russia in 2025 is 12 per cent higher than in 2021. I want to say that despite all the difficulties of recent years, Russian machine builders have operated under challenging conditions, including the severance of ties with some foreign partners and external pressure from unfriendly countries,” he explained.

Putin said the challenges faced by Russia underscore the importance of independently producing essential products and maintaining domestic technological infrastructure.

“Once again, I want to emphasise that while strengthening our technological sovereignty, we will not isolate ourselves; on the contrary, we intend to create and expand mutually beneficial alliances with other countries,” he stated.

He also called for studying domestic and foreign technological experiences to help introduce the best innovations into Russian industry.
