Putin: Russia to increase oil and gas supplies to reliable partners

Moscow – President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is increasing supplies of oil and gas to partners deemed reliable across various regions of the world.

“I have received information that we are increasing supplies to our trusted partners, and this is being done across several regions simultaneously,” Putin said during a meeting at the Kremlin on Monday (9 March) discussing the global oil and gas market situation.

The Russian leader also noted that global competition among buyers for energy supplies is intensifying amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

“If we currently redirect our focus towards markets requiring increased supply, we can strengthen our position there,” Putin stated.

He also assessed that under current conditions, the complete diversion of oil supplies from the Middle East without passing through the Strait of Hormuz remains unrealistic.
