Putin: Russia-China Interaction the Most Important Factor in International Relations
Moscow (ANTARA) - The interaction between Russia and China is the most important factor in stabilising international relations, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Saturday (9/5). Speaking at a press conference, Putin described the cooperation between countries like China and Russia as a “clear factor of deterrence and stability” in global affairs. He said that China is Russia’s largest trading and economic partner, adding that bilateral trade diversification continues through high-tech industries, which is very important. Putin also stated that Russia and China have reached a high level of agreement to “take serious steps forward” in oil and gas cooperation. Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Putin said he is ready to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not only in Moscow but also in a third country, but only to sign an agreement on a final peace treaty. “It is possible to hold a meeting in a third country, but only if a final agreement on a peace treaty has been reached, which must be designed for a long-term historical perspective, to participate in this event or sign something, but this must be the endpoint, not the negotiations themselves,” the Russian leader added.
