Putin identifies Asia-Pacific as a powerful hub for global economic growth

Vladivostok (ANTARA) - The Asia-Pacific region is a very powerful growth hub, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a plenary session of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, on Thursday.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I warmly welcome the participants and invited guests of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum. This event brings together business leaders, specialists, and experts from dozens of countries to the capital of the Primorye region,” said Putin.

“In particular, of course, from the Asia-Pacific region, which is a powerful growth hub that determines the overall direction of global economic development,” he continued.

Putin stated that Russia is an active participant in various investment and trade cooperation within the region. He emphasised that his administration will always prioritise the principles of equality and mutual respect when establishing partnerships with all countries in the region.

The Eastern Economic Forum is an annual business forum organised by the Russian Government in Vladivostok since 2015. This year, the event was held from 1–4 September.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended as a keynote guest. During the event, he invited Russian companies to conduct business in Indonesia.

“I am directly conveying to Russian business actors: come to Indonesia, cooperate with us, and produce with us. Let us build industries together, let us create value together,” said Prabowo during the EEF plenary session.

Prabowo noted that such cooperation would provide opportunities for Indonesia to access the broader Eurasian market.
