TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Russian President Vladimir Putin described the Asia-Pacific region as a powerful engine of growth during the plenary session of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Thursday.

“I welcome the participants and guests of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum. This business event held in the capital of the Primorye Territory traditionally brings together business leaders, professionals and experts from dozens of countries,” Putin said.

“Primarily from the Asian-Pacific region, of course, which is a powerful growth hub setting the development pace for the global economy as a whole,” he continued.

Putin stated that Russia remains an active partner in various trade and investment initiatives across the region.

His administration prioritizes equality and mutual respect in building partnerships with all regional nations.

The Eastern Economic Forum has been held annually by the Russian government in Vladivostok since 2015. This year, the event took place from September 1 to 4.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the gathering as a guest of honor. He invited Russian enterprises to expand their business into Indonesia.

“I am directly calling on Russian business leaders to enter Indonesia, partner with us, and engage in joint production. Let us build industries together; let us create value together,” Prabowo declared during the EEF plenary session.

Prabowo noted that such cooperation would pave the way for Indonesia to access the broader Eurasian market.
