Puteri Komarudin Supports Optimisation of KDMP for Equitable Economic Development
Member of DPR RI’s Commission XI from the Golkar Party, Puteri Komarudin, has called on village governments to optimise the role of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (KDMP) in building local economic ecosystems.
She expressed this during the Workshop on Evaluating Village Financial Management and Development for 2026 in Bekasi Regency on Tuesday (5/5). This encouragement aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to accelerate KDMP development as a driver of equitable village economies.
“This year, there is indeed an adjustment in the priority of village funds for building Kopdes Merah Putih. So, changes in governance are being made to support Kopdes, where the assets built from Kopdes will become village-owned assets that can be optimised to generate original village income. Thus, villages are expected to become increasingly independent in the future,” said Puteri.
Data from the Ministry of Villages records that procurement of 34,000 KDMP units is underway, with around 5,500 units already completed.
Puteri explained that building Kopdes Merah Putih is a strategy to strengthen the village economic ecosystem in the long term.
“Moreover, looking at the role of Kopdes, starting from off-takers of agricultural production, becoming supply chain for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), distributors of social assistance (bansos), to savings and loan services. Of course, with these various roles, we hope that in the future it can drive an integrated rural economic ecosystem and create a multiplier effect for local economic activities,” she stated.
On the same occasion, Acting Regent of Bekasi Regency Asep Surya Atmaja emphasised the significant opportunities in building village independence.
“The existence of village governments certainly provides great hope in improving the welfare of village communities. This is done through fulfilling basic needs, developing infrastructure, developing local economic potential, and utilising natural resources and the environment sustainably,” said Asep.
Meanwhile, Head of BPKP Representation for West Java Province, Ikhwan Mulyawan, conveyed his commitment to supporting the strengthening of village cooperatives and synergy among economic actors at the village level.
“Of course, the Kopdes idea is extraordinary. However, it needs to be our homework to synergise the engines of village economic drivers. Do not let, for example, the Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) and Kopdes end up competing with each other,” said Ikhwan.
Also present at the event were Head of the West Java Provincial DJPb Regional Office Fahma Sari Fatma, Head of the Bekasi Regency Prosecutor’s Office Mr Semeru, along with all sub-district heads, village heads, and rural heads in Bekasi Regency.
